ABOUT GOLDEN VALLEY, ARIZONA
Twenty Five Years ago our founding fathers of the Golden Valley Chamber had a definite vision in mind.
It was their desire, and continues to be our desire, to promote the welfare of the Golden Valley area as an “attractive and
pleasant place to live”. The desire to ensure the prosperity of the area considered Golden Valley is bound by highway 93
to the east, Union Pass to the west, Hermit to the north and Oatman Rd. to the south, is still a vision that we hold today.
The population in 1983 was 2,000 and has grown to an estimated 20,000, showing the prosperity that was and is our vision.
The chamber dropped to only 32 members in 1997 as a slump in the economy affected the area revealing the importance of these
values. A group of citizens headed by Chris Crow established a functioning board and revived the purpose and the vision of
the Chamber. Over the past ten years, Chris and various boards have increased the membership to over 50% of all the
businesses within the area. Over time the Chamber has established a permanent home, a business directory and a local botanical
garden site. Golden Valley Days, the Highway 68 Bike and Car Show and many other community activities have prospered with
the generous help of the business community.
We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year with excitement and anticipation. As our community grows and develops, we
desire to have a deeper relationship between ourselves and the community through the expansion of the services that we provide.
